Your love used to shine so bright for me.

So much so that it stung my eyes.

The glare of your love blinded me.

So much so that I could only see you

and not myself.

I lost sight of the woman I knew;

the woman I was destined to become.

I thought your love lit up the

pathway to safety, to destiny, to happiness.

Instead the lights began to flicker

because some days you loved me

and some days you didn’t.

We now sit in the dark.

The candle has finally burned out.

Your love used to shine so bright for me.

Now, your love has blown out.
