When They Come Back

They can sense me

They know that I’m healing

And that’s when they come sniffing

Begging me

All of a sudden

They love me

All of a sudden

They miss me

They’ve seemingly forgotten

How they

gutted me

Broke me

Shattered my psyche

Now, that my heart

is whole again

All of a sudden,

they reappear

Wanting to be

near the woman

They used to hold so dear
