In many ways I feel like a flower.

I'm vibrant and alive. I'm fragrant

and pleasing to the eye.

I'm radiant and bursting forth with new life.

I represent new beginnings.

I'm kissed gently with morning dew

I'm soft like velvet.

In many ways I feel like a flower.

I'm withering. I'm dying everyday.

I hurt those that get close to me.

My youth evaporates under the sun.

I no longer hold my head up high.

I was once so beautiful, why would I die?

Why does everyone have to see

my elegance slipping away from me?

It's as if my beauty meant nothing.

Gone so quickly.

In many ways I feel like a flower.
